Design Process

Welcome to the Design Process Module!

Watch the video below to get started.

This module explores the Design Process, an approach to developing ideas and solving problems used by scientists all over the world!

When you’re ready to dig your claws in, come with me and watch the first video below, to get an idea of how you can use the Design Process in your GALS project, and beyond!

Once you’ve finished watching this video, make a list of each of the steps of the Design Process that you’ve learned.

Ask yourself:

  • Are there any other steps you usually take when solving a problem?

  • When was the last time you did one of these steps in real life? What was the outcome?

Once you’ve completed the task, move on to the next video.

Animal Habitat Activity

This is an exciting one! Complete the Animal Habitat Activity introduced in the video above:

  • Design a habitat for a small animal (just like me!) that considers the classroom layout, the needs of the teachers and students, and most importantly, the needs of the small animal.

  • Remember to follow each step of the Design Process along the way.

  • Present your ideas to the class.

Once you have completed the activity, you have finished today’s module!

Well done! Your teacher will give you your final instructions.
